Create Your Own Experience / Learn How to Create Your Own Tintypes in my 4 - 6 hour private tintype workshop:
Are you interested in learning the Wet Plate collodion process, or looking to take your tintype practice to the next level? Join me for a hands-on workshop that will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed. No equipment or experience is necessary, although a basic understanding of photography would be helpful.
Option A: I will cover all the basics of the Wet Plate collodion process. By the end of the session, you'll have made your own plates and gained a solid understanding of the process. This will put you in a great position to start your own practice or consider taking a more in-depth workshop down the road.
Option B: Already making tintypes? Join me for a deep dive into my 12 plus years of experience. I'll share what chemistry works best for me and why, as well as tips and tricks I've learned along the way. We can focus on lighting, chemistry, or fine-tune your own lighting setup to help you get the results you're after.
Option C: Looking to create your own unique tintypes? Bring your own vision, still life subject, or model, and let me work with you to bring your ideas to life. I'll guide you through the process, with an emphasis on creating finished plates that you can be proud of. Think of me as your personal tintype conductor, driving the train in the direction you want to go. This option is perfect for those who want to focus on the creative side of the process while still getting a taste of the technical skills involved.
Option D: I have extensive experience working in the music industry, shooting bands live, documenting the day-to-day, as well as location portraits and studio portraits. We can focus on whatever photography skills you want to learn. Shoot me an email and let me know what you would like to focus on.
Please note that these packages can be split with a friend or two if you like, although there will be less hands-on time for each participant.

A tintype is made by an entirely handmade process with origins dating back to the 1850s. Metal plates are sensitized, exposed, and developed on-site using a portable darkroom. The image is made in silver and will last many generations.
